The Serious Games Initiative announced that early registration for Games for Health 2006 is now open, with discounted pricing available until June 16, and has also announced initial topics for the event, which will feature over two-dozen sessions, demos, and reports on relevant research findings, and will be held September 28-29 at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
The organizers of Games of Health 2006 expect over 300 attendees for the event, including researchers, developers, health and healthcare professional and other stakeholders in games and healthcare.
A number of sessions are currently planned for the event, including 25 sessions covering topics such as "Health messaging using games", "Health messaging using games", "Exergaming and physical therapy games and technologies", "Psychotherapy and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder", "Pain Distraction & Anxiety", "Cancer treatment", "Disease management & self-directed care", "Cognitive health", and "Off-the-Shelf and custom solutions". Specific sessions are expected to be announced on July 5, and the
preliminary list is available on the Games for Health website.
