This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending January 19, sees Lost Planet, Crackdown, and Battlestations: Midway coming in as the week's top three title
This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending January 19, highlight the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. Unsurprisingly, much like in previous weeks, the top three requests across all console and handheld platform for the week were dominated by titles for the Xbox 360. Once again, the most requested game for the week was Capcom's snowy action thriller Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, while Microsoft's upcoming Crackdown and Eidos' wartime action title Battlestations: Midway filled out the following two positions on the weekly chart. PlayStation 3 requests were headlined by Namco's Ridge Racer 7, while Sega's re-imagined Sonic the Hedgehog and Ubisoft's multiplatform Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII took the following two spots. Turning to the Wii, the recently shipped Wario Ware: Smooth Moves proved to be the most popular title on the format for the week, followed by Atlus' Trauma Center: Second Opinion and the March release of Mario Party 8. Sony's God of War II was the most requested PlayStation 2 title for the week, highlighting consumer anticipation in the march up to its February release. The Level 5 developed action RPG Rogue Galaxy was the second most requested PS2 title for the week, followed by Rockstar's schoolyard sandbox game Bully. Elsewhere, Eidos' Justice League Heroes topped all weekly Xbox rental requests, while Vivendi's Scarface: The World Is Yours and Activision's Call of Duty 3 rounded out that chart's top three releases. GameCube requests were again dominated by Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, followed by Mario Party 7 and D3P's Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2. Final Fantasy VI Advance was the most requested Game Boy Advance title for the week, followed by 'roguelike' Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Regarding the Nintendo DS, Nintendo's Cing-developed adventure game Hotel Dusk: Room 215 was the most popular title for the handheld. Rare's forthcoming mascot racer Diddy Kong Racing was the second most requested DS game for the week, followed by Capcom's Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All. PSP requests were again topped by Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, while Sony's Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and Killzone: Liberation rounded out the PSP's top three requests for the week.
