THQ and its internal developer Vigil Games (
Warhammer 40k Online) have announced
Darksiders: Wrath of War, an "open world" action adventure coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2008, created by X-Men artist and Vigil founder Joe Madureira.
THQ says the game gives players the ability to take on the role of War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and explore a demon ravaged world as he "embarks on a brutal quest of vengeance and revenge against the forces that betrayed him with the help of his phantom steed Ruin."
THQ says the title will be the first from the recently founded Vigil Games, anda will feature open-world exploration, a deep combat system and a huge arsenal of modern and mythical weapons.
