BioWare Reveals Mass Effect's Episodic Content Plans

A new online report has quoted BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka who said that the developer has "big plans afoot" for episodic content for all its upcoming franchises, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Jade Empire: Special Edition.
According to new report from UK website Computer & Video Games, BioWare (Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic) has revealed plans for episodic content for the company's forthcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Mass Effect as well as other future releases. Specifically, BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka told the website, “...we have big plans afoot at BioWare for post-release and episodic content for upcoming cool BioWare games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Jade Empire: Special Edition and other upcoming BioWare titles, both on console and PC." Widely regarded as one of the Xbox 360's heavy hitters for 2007, Mass Effect is a science-fiction action and role-playing game aimed to deliver an immersive, story-driven gameplay experience. Set against a backdrop of deep space exploration, players will take part in an adventure to discover the source of an ancient menace, while conversing with aliens and attempting to convince NPCs of the growing threat through Mass Effect's robust conversation system. Muzyka further commented on the growing popularity of online gaming, specifically within the PC space with games such as Blizzard's hugely popular World of Warcraft as well as other MMO titles. In March 2006, BioWare founded a new studio, named BioWare Austin, which at the time was noted as being designed specifically for MMORPG development, and that work on the studio's first such game had already begun.
