Microsoft has announced the imminent release of new downloadable content for the Xbox 360 exclusive Crackdown
, adding a host of new features, both free and premium, to the already robust crime fighting action title.
Hailed as “GTA
killer” long before its release on February 20, 2007, Crackdown
sold more than 900,000 units in its first two months of availability.
The “sandbox” game allows players to fully explore the hoodlum filled streets of Pacific City as they play as a genetically enhanced agent and combat crime either alone or cooperatively throughout a free-form campaign.
Among the new additions released today for Crackdown
are improved mission time trials, an option to repopulate opponents after the game has been completed, a vehicle impound garage, and a new cheat mode, Keys to the City, which introduces new “super agent” abilities and the option to create ramps, vehicles and explosives anywhere in Pacific City, at any point in the game.
While these new additions are available free of charge, Microsoft has also released new premium content for Crackdown
as well. For 800 Microsoft Points ($10), players will gain access to three new vehicles, four new weapons, new cooperative modes, an Agent “cloaking device,” and a new street-racing mode.
Other new Crackdown
released content expected to be released today includes a new dashboard theme for 150 Microsoft Points ($2), as well as new picture packs at varying prices.
