Yuke's Company of America, the North American publishing arm or Osaka Japan-based game developer Yuke's (
WWE Smackdown, D1GP Professional Drift), has announced that it will publish
NEVES, a new “mature” puzzle game for the Nintendo DS.
The game will be distributed in North America by Atlus USA, which describes NEVES’s gameplay as “simple yet stimulating entertainment.”
According to Yuke’s, the game is “targeted towards a more mature audience,” and “challenges players to think critically as they align pieces and build figures that correspond to a silhouette.” Puzzles in
NEVES consist of seven wooden blocks, and players must arrange these blocks using the stylus in order to form specific shapes.
A statement announcing the game notes that these can range from simple shapes such as swords and keys, to more complicated ones like airplanes or birds.
NEVES will feature over 500 different puzzles, as well as four different modes including puzzle mode, count mode, time mode, and versus mode.
"We're greatly excited to bring
NEVES to the Nintendo DS," said Shane Takahashi, CEO of Yuke's Company of America. "The game's modern aesthetic and design should appeal to more discerning gamers while its portability and approachable gameplay should interest almost anyone."
