French media giant Vivendi Universal reported third quarter sales of €5.9 billion ($5.7b), down from €14.6 billion last year. The company has been forced to part with a range of assets recently, although famously not its video games publishing division.
Universal Music Group was one of the worst performing areas of the company, with sales down 16%, but weak sales in film, TV and video games sectors, as well as a strong Euro, were also blamed for the poor results.
