Gamasutra's round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list.
Square-Enix has a license to print money this week with the release of
Kingdom Hearts II, the sequel to the 2002 Squre-Enix/Walt Disney RPG, in the United States. Konami's
Beatmania, an American arcade staple since 1998, surprisingly makes its American console debut this week; hot on the heels of
Guitar Hero, we suppose. Also notable: three new titles for the Xbox 360, including a special edition of Crytek's
Far Cry franchise,
Far Cry: Instincts: Evolution.
Over in Europe, Nintendo's
Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS comes out of hibernation. The nearly four month delay may seem excessive for hungry fans, until one considers that there was a two year gap between the United States and European versions of the original Gamecube iteration of the series. The formerly rare and eternally awesome lawyer adventure
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney also sees release in Europe this week, along with the PS2 version of the ever-popular
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.
