Officials from Capcom have announced that the company has promoted Mark Beaumont as executive vice president, officer and head of consumer software publishing in North America, South America and Europe.
Beaumont previously served as Capcom’s senior vice president and officer of the Americas, but in his new position will assume additional responsibilities for the company’s entire consumer software business in the West, including Europe and Australia in addition to the Americas. He will report to Capcom Co., Ltd. managing corporate officer and head of video game business Katsuhiko Ichii in North America, as well as Capcom Entertainment Inc. president and acting CEO Hiroshi Tobisawa in Europe.
Beaumont’s new role is intended to “foster an atmosphere of innovation” at the acclaimed publisher and developer. Beaumont has a twenty-five year history in the industry, dating back to the original Atari. His previous responsibilities have extended from marketing to product development, general management and lead publishing roles.
"Mark has significantly and steadily grown revenue in the Americas by revamping the sales organization, driving market awareness, consolidating distribution, improving forecasting, increasing inventory control and taking two of our largest retail accounts direct,” said Tobisawa. “We are positioning Capcom for the future by strengthening our presence, and development, in the West. Mark will now apply his strategies, which already have resulted in strong North American growth, to the European markets.”
