Although Wii and DS hardware and software both declined this year, Nintendo platforms now have 79 titles that have sold a million units or more.
The figure, which includes third-party titles, grew during the company's
most recent fiscal year from 54 million-sellers the year prior.
Wii Sports Resort was the year's top-selling Wii title, with 16.14 million units sold worldwide. The title has made the U.S.' NPD top 10 every month since it launched in July 2009, and was the second best-selling game of all of 2009.
Wii Fit Plus was Nintendo's second-biggest mover during its fiscal year, with 12.65 million units sold worldwide, and
New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 14.6 million units worldwide.
On the DS software front,
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, with 8.4 million units sold, was the year's biggest seller, while fellow chart-topper
Tomodachi Collection sold 3.2 million units.
the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks sold 2.6 million.
