Representatives from casual game publisher/developer MumboJumbo have announced that the company is to release games on the PSP for the first time.
Best known as a developer and operator of its own causal games distribution network, the company has recently been expanding its ranged of boxed game titles via a
deal with Wik: Fable of Souls developer Reflexive Entertainment.
The release of
Luxor: Wrath of Set and
Platypus in mid-November will represent the company’s first boxed console product. The
Luxor series is already one of the most popular action puzzle titles on the PC, while
Platypus is described as the “first claymation side-scrolling shooter game to be launched on the PSP system”.
“MumboJumbo has already established itself as the leading provider of premium casual games at the retail channel for PC and MAC users,” claimed Mark Cottam, MumboJumbo’s CEO. “Now PSP system owners will be able to play some of the most popular casual titles ever made, like
Luxor, which exceeded 40 million downloads since its debut in 2005.”
Although the Nintendo DS has thus far garnered a greater reputation for hosting casual gamer friendly titles, the company has given no indication that it is to release games on that format.
