The 2006 Independent Games Festival has now launched its online poll to help decide which four games are picked to be included in the modding section of the IGF's 2006 competition. The 2006 IGF, which was announced on Friday, includes an addition to the regular IGF Competition and Student Showcase in the form of the IGF Modding Competition. This new competition will award the most outstanding, independently developed modifications for four major games. Voting will be open for the next few weeks, and interested parties can vote on the title they would most like to see honored at the 2006 Independent Games Festival, to be held at Game Developers Conference in San Jose in March 2006. Listed titles to vote on include America's Army, Battlefield 1942, Call Of Duty, Doom 3, Far Cry, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Unreal Tournament, and WarCraft III, with an option to vote for any other non-listed game. [The Independent Games Festival is presented by the CMP Game Group, organizers of the Game Developers Conference and Serious Games Summit, and publishers of Game Developer Magazine and Gamasutra.com.]
