Rockstar Games said Monday that
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is coming to Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch this fall, following the March release on the Nintendo DS.
The M-rated game garnered strong reviews from critics when it launched in March on DS this year. The game, developed by Rockstar Leeds, sold 163,000 units in its first two months. Rockstar also recently announced that it would
release a PSP version of the game this fall.
Staying true to mature themes associated with the
GTA series,
Chinatown Wars on DS featured blood and gore, drug references, violence, and strong language.
Rockstar Games did not immediately return a phone call inquiring about the price of the game once it hits Apple's digital App Store. Games on the service range from free to $9.99. The DS version sells for $34.99 at retail.

Chinatown Wars is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch. We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple's new gaming platforms."
Rockstar Games also confirmed that it is bringing the music-making application
Beaterator to the App Store. It was previously announced for Sony PSP, and includes thousands of loops and sounds" created by record producer Timbaland and Rockstar. The game is due to hit the App Store this fall.
