Joe van den Heuvel is a software engineer for Motorola Labs in Schaumburg, Ill. He has spent the last year and a half working on using Bluetooth, a wireless technology, as a medium for communication between games on handheld devices. To demonstrate the power of this technology, and to learn what it takes to write a game targeted at a Bluetooth-enabled device, he developed Quantum Annihilation, which will be released early this year as a free download.
