I love the GDC Vault.

I've been lucky enough to attend 6 GDCs so far and it amazes me that so much quality content is up on the Vault. It's not cheap, but a good amount of it is free. We're talking top talks from the top minds of our craft. For free! Good stuff.

Here's my problem with the Vault, though: it's hard to find said good stuff without knowing what to look for. And once you're in there, you have to cross your fingers for a free talk.

Vaultkeepers - if you want to exponentially increase the usefulness of the service: add ratings! Make it easy to find the good stuff.

Until then, maybe I can help. For a few years I've been hosting GDC Vault viewing sessions at Schell Games, where I work. Every Tuesday we grab lunch and gather to watch whichever talk I feel like showing that day. Initially I kept a log of all talks shown. Eventually I started asking attendees to rate the talks and recording the average rating. Sometimes only one or two people show up, sometimes we get more than 10. In any case, and in my humble opinion, any rating is better than no rating. So today I'd like to share with you this sheet in the hopes that it will help you find the gold nuggets in the vast expanse that is the GDC Vault. Tons of these talks are free: there's something in here for everyone.

Just click here.

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: the ratings on these talks are the personal opinion of whomever showed that day to watch and reflect in no way the official view of Schell Games.

Disclaimer #2: I like design talks, so most of the rated talks are design talks.
