Middleware developer Faceware Technologies today launched a new Facial Mocap package specifically for indie and mobile studios, with "lite" versions of all its best products included. The Indie Facial Mocap Package comes with lite versions of Analyzer and Retargeter, plus GoPro Headcam facial performance capture kit. The company says these lite versions provide the necessary tools to utilize facial performance capture for games and animation. Faceware's tools have been utilized in numerous large-scale AAA games, like the Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead Redemption, Sleeping Dogs and Halo: Reach. The company hopes that this new indie-orientated package will entice smaller studios into trying out its tools for a more affordable price tag. Faceware's Indie Facial Mocap Package can be purchased for $2,995, which is a $700 savings over the separate purchase of all the tools in the package. Meanwhile, Faceware has also launched a selection of new packages for bigger studios. The HD Headcam Pro system adds a new option for a HD camera with 1080p output, while Faceware Analyzer Pro brings new abilities for exporting X and Y positions of landmarks.
