Genius Products, co-owned by Miramax founders Bob and Harvey Weinstein, has announced it will expand its entertainment media publishing and distribution operations to include video games, launching its endeavors by publishing Line Rider on Wii, DS and PC. The company says the previously announced console and handheld versions, in development by inXile Entertainment (The Bard's Tale) will add new game modes, new riders, new community features and new creative tools, expanding on the ability to create and share levels on YouTube, Facebook and the official site, linerider.com. This version casts the player as the "clever and cunning" Bosh, who must stop sled-stealer Chaz and rescue his true love, Bailey. It also features over 40 puzzles developed by "the #1 Line Rider player in the world, TechDawg." Genius Products president and CEO Trevor Drinkwater commented, "Our management expertise in the development, marketing and distribution of video games creates a tremendous growth opportunity for Genius. As planned, this marks the beginning of our entrance into the fast growing and exciting interactive software category and the expansion of our distribution expertise in multiple entertainment based product categories."
