Turbo Squid announced the availability of Kaydara's HumanIK plug-in for Discreet 3ds max. Feature highlights in HumanIK include:

  • Automatic Character Rigging - saves animators time when rigging characters, and simplifies motion retargeting between HumanIK-based characters.

    • BodyGenerator - provides a 3ds max script for the quick creation of human bone structures.

    • Integration with the 3ds max environment - supports all bone and object structures native to 3ds max, and it's compatibile with the 3ds max controller for procedural animations and function curves.

    • HumanIK works in parallel with Discreet's character studio, complementing the Physique and Crowd components.

    • It includes support for major motion capture formats (.bvh, .htr, .asf, .fbx). HumanIK has a suggested retail price in North America of $995, with an introductory special of $895.
