SN Systems, a subsidiary Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., has announced that the prices of its PlayStation 2 development tools will be cut by one third when ordered through its UK office, as the launch of the PlayStation 3 approaches. PlayStation 2 products included in this reduction are: ProDG, ProDG Plus, ProView, and ProView Plus. The price drop will also be reflected in the 6-month rental licenses of ProDG Plus for the PlayStation 2, which have proven to be popular with developers working on shorter-term projects. Andy Beveridge, Director of SN Systems commented "ProDG for PlayStation 2 has been on sale since April 2000 and has continually evolved since that time. As a company, we feel one of our greatest strengths is our ability to listen to and deliver what developers are asking for." He added: "SN Systems' development tools for PlayStation 2 are a prime example of this; we've consistently implemented additional features and functions with each new release. ProDG for PlayStation 2 is a comprehensive and mature development tool that has been used throughout the industry."
