Image processing software developer Realviz has announced the release of Stitcher Unlimited 5.5 DS, the latest in the company's line of multi-award-winning panorama software. With the new version, Stitcher Unlimited 5.5 DS now includes the ability to automatically stitch 2-shot fisheye photos, providing a specialized solution for anyone working in immersive imaging. Realviz's Stitcher application is designed for the creation of wide-angle panoramas for the web, film, print, and 3D. In addition to the ability to piece together fisheye photos, this release also includes a number of new features, including the ability to create virtual tours and display them using Apple QuickTime VR, ImmerVision Java-based PURE Player, and Shockwave 3D-based SPi-V3d Viewer from fieldOfView. Stitcher Unlimited 5.5 DS is counted among Realviz's recently announced Stitcher product range, which includes versions of Stitcher that target photographers of different skill levels. Other Stitcher versions currently available include Stitcher Express 2 for digital photography hobbyists and Stitcher Pro 5.5 for professional photographers & graphic artists. "2-shot fisheye stitching has been one of the main requests from our users for some time," explained Realviz CEO Dominique Pouliquen. "Now finally we are able to offer this capability to these users, as well as a whole new community of immersive imaging professionals. In particular those people looking for a new solution to fill the void left after the removal of IPIX from the playing field. We invite these new users to experience what remains the 'must have' application for the creation of panoramas."
