Pixologic will be unveiling ZBrush version 1.2 for both the PC and Macintosh, on March 22nd, 2001, at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose. The new version incorporates several new features, including Zscript language, Instant Replay, and new Tools. ZBrush is an application that offers a dynamic and integrated digital imagery workflow solution for creative professionals working in either 2D or 3D. ZBrush is built on a powerful rendering engine that allows an artist to paint an image with depth and push/pull sections, create and move lights, change the materials and apply both 2D and 3D effects via a unique "Pixol" Rendering technology. The new version adds an integrated ZScript window, Instant Replay, Orientation-Sensitive Intensity, and Refract & Reflect brushes. The ZScript Language enables users to automate all ZBrush actions, combining complex actions into one button click that can be loaded and executed on demand within the ZBrush environment. The new Instant Replay feature allows users to replay any brush stroke with additional transformation applied (translation, scaling and rotation). Orientation-Sensitive Intensity is made possible by ZBrush's Pixol technology, which allows automatic variance of color and depth intensity based on the orientation of pixols in a 2.5D ZBrush image. New Refract & Reflect Brushes instantly allow users to paint refraction and reflection directly into a ZBrush image in real-time! ZBrush version 1.2 will be available online at a special introductory price of $292.50 for a limited period of time with free upgrades to current registered users. Following the introductory offer, ZBrush price at around $585.00.
