Acclaim CCO and former Shiny Entertainment lead David Perry (Earthworm Jim) will be named an honorary graduate of Queen's University Belfast. Perry will be awarded an honorary diploma in science engineering for "distinction in computer game development and design." Perry was named as an honoree among others including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Bertie Ahern, Northern Ireland peace activists Reverend Harold Good and Father Alec Reid and Japanese peace ambassador Daisaku Ikeda. Absolutely Fabulous actress Joanna Lumley and Northern Irish actor James Ellis will also receive degrees at the graduation ceremonies, which take place in July of 2008. A university spokesperson told the BBC that the honorees were selected for being "role models for our students and the wider community".
