Video Gamers League announced today that mobile game developer and publisher I-Play has been signed as the exclusive mobile gaming partner for the company's "Midnight Gaming Championship." As part of the partnership, I-Play will power the mobile marketing and short code initiatives on behalf of MGL's sponsors - Time Warner Cable, Best Buy, Red Octane, GameZnFlix, Punchbutton and Coca Cola. Short codes will also provide specific tournament information. “I-play is a company with a reputation for publishing the best mobile games and executing cutting-edge mobile marketing campaigns,” said Jerome Elenez, McDonald’s marketing director, Greater Southwest Region “Their leadership in this industry makes them a key alliance for launching the 'Midnight Gaming Championship' tournaments.” The "Midnight Gaming Championship" is a series of late-night Saturday gaming tournaments taking place in and around the Dallas, TX area. Available games for this season's competition are Tekken 5, Guitar Hero, and NCAA 07 Football. The championship is scheduled to take place November 18th, 2006. Three grand prizes will be awarded, and include $500 cash, a $1000 Best Buy gift card, a Sony PSP, a Xbox 360, a Guitar Hero guitar signed by the Red Octane team, and other goodies.
