Developers will soon be able to use Metrowerks familiar Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and tool set to create games for the Game Boy Advance. The company plans an April release for it new Code Warrior Development Tools for Game Boy Advance version 1.0. The toolkit will be hosted on Windows and will support Nintendo's Game Boy Advance Developer Toolkit, complementing and enhancing the existing development solution released by Nintendo of America without compromising legacy code. The CodeWarrior tools are designed to ensure seamless communication between the developer kit and the CodeWarrior debugger. CodeWarrior Development Tools for Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Version 1.0 is scheduled to be available in April 2002. The product is available direct from Metrowerks for an introductory price of $1,500 per license.
