Speaking to Japanese magazine Nikkei Business, Sony Computer Entertainment head Ken Kutaragi has commented on recent events that saw him removed from Sony's board of directors and effectively demoted from other corporate positions, as Welshman Howard Stringer moved up to become Sony's CEO. Kutaragi made a very specific statement, dismissing rumors of his dis-satisfaction over Sony's changes: "There's a lot I want to do. I have been leading SCE, and I will continue to lead it. I will remain at Sony. I'm still young. It's my goal to keep moving forward." The SCE head also commented on the much-vaunted Cell chip, which is intended to be the heart of the PlayStation 3, and also serve Sony's grander plans of convergence: "We're finally going to launch it, after more than four years of major development. I have the responsibility [of steering this], and I also have dreams. First, the Cell will be placed in game consoles. Then, in the near future, I want to use it in TVs and home servers." It's not yet known when the PlayStation 3 will be officially announced, although analyst reports have indicated that there may be basic information on Sony's next-gen hardware released before May's E3 trade show in Los Angeles.
