The Gamer Technology Conference -- which, despite its name, focuses more on legal issues surrounding the games industry rather than technical or development details -- will be held by Law Seminars International this July. Legal professionals and videogame developers alike will be present to host sessions related to a host of legal matters in game development community, from first amendment concerns to combating piracy to patenting technology. Particularly intriguing sessions among those listed on the conference schedule are "Revenge of the EA Widow," where Patrick Madden discusses the finer points of employee benefits and issues, and "Understanding Copyright Issues," where James Charne outlines a multitude of tricky points in the relationship between developers and publishers. Registration for the convention can be done either by fax or electronically through LSI's official site. The Gamer Technology Conference will be on July 11 and 12, at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle.
