This week's top game rental charts from U.S. firm GameFly again sees Xbox 360 releases topping all overall requests, with Take Two's BioShock again drowning the competition from the top of the charts, followed by Xbox 360 exclusive RPG _Blue Drag
This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending August 20, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. For the third straight week, 2K Games' Xbox 360 action adventure game BioShock topped all other games as the number one requested title across all platforms. The Xbox 360 exclusive RPG Blue Dragon ranked second among overall requests, followed by EA's recently shipped Madden NFL 08. Once again, Nintendo's forthcoming Wii exclusive Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ranked fourth in user requests in the lead up to the game's release later this month. What follows is a break down of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Xbox 360 1. BioShock (Take Two), 2. Blue Dragon (Microsoft), 3. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 4. Stranglehold (Midway), 5. Two Worlds (South Peak). Take Two's BioShock again ranked as the top requested Xbox 360 title this week, followed by a surge in interest in Blue Dragon, which found the upcoming RPG ranking second among Xbox 360 requests for the week. South Peak's Two Worlds, after topping out in second place for a handful of weeks, fell slightly to take the chart's fifth position. Nintendo Wii 1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Nintendo), 2. Mario Strikers Charged (Nintendo), 4. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 4. Carnival Games (Globalstar), 5. Brunswick Pro Bowling (Crave). Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was again found on top of the Wii chart this week, followed once more by the recently released Mario Strikers Charged. Globalstar's mini-game collection Carnival Games ranked fourth for the week, while Crave's Brunswick Pro Bowling fell slightly from third to fifth. PlayStation 3 1. Lair (Sony), 2. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (Ubisoft), 3. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 4. Warhawk (Sony), 5. Heavenly Sword (Sony). Sony's Lair, after falling to a distant fifth last week, soared ahead to take the PS3's top spot this week, followed by Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. A pair of upcoming titles from Sony rounded out the chart this week, including the multiplayer-only Warhawk in fourth, followed by the action adventure Heavenly Sword. PlayStation 2 1. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 2. Persona 3 (Atlus), 3. Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 (Namco), 4. Stuntman: Ignition (THQ), 5. God of War II (Sony). Once again, EA's Madden NFL 08 muscled its way to the top of the PS2 chart this week, followed by Atlus' niche RPG release Persona 3. Newcomers this week include Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 from Namco, and THQ's Stuntman: Ignition, proving that there still exists a good deal of life left in Sony's aging platform. Xbox 1. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 2. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 3. Knights of the Old Republic II (LucasArts), 4. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 5. NCAA Football 08 (EA). Unlike the PS2, the original Xbox sits largely forgotten, and its chart remains unchanged from last week with Madden NFL 08, one of the few new titles to be released for the console recently, ranking as the console's top requested title. Another title from EA, NCAA Football 08, ranked again as the fifth most requested game for the platform. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo), 3. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Nintendo), 4. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 5. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (Nintendo). The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess continues to be the top requested GameCube title, while Nintendo's Metroid Prime 2: Echoes rolled into the chart's third position, no doubt feeding off of anticipation for the upcoming sequel for the Wii. The lone non-Nintendo title on the chart this week is Madden NFL 08, echoing the title's popularity, regardless of platform. Nintendo DS 1. Brain Age 2 (Nintendo), 2. Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon (Natsume), 3. Heroes of Mana (Square Enix), 4. Luminous Arc (Atlus), 5. High School Musical: Makin' the Cut (Disney). Nintendo's forthcoming Brain Age 2 once again trained its peers from atop the DS chart this week. Square Enix's Heroes of Mana fell another spot from last week to take third on the chart, while Natsume's Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon climbed up tot take its place. Meanwhile, Disney's High School Musical: Makin' the Cut once again continued to dance from the chart's fifth position. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon: Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon:Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon: Leaf Green (Nintendo), 5. Pokemon: Ruby (Nintendo). The Game Boy Advance chart, still dominated by Pokemon titles, remained mostly unaltered from last week, with Pokemon: Emerald still on top as the most requested title for the platform. The only change came in Pokemon: Ruby's fall from fourth to fifth on the chart, with Leaf Green moving up a notch to take its place. PlayStation Portable 1. Jeanne D'Arc (Sony), 2. Madden NFL 08 (EA), 3. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes (Namco), 4. Dungeons & Dragons Tactics (Atari), 5. Brave Story: New Traveler (Xseed). Heeding a higher calling, Sony's Jeanne D'Arc moved up to become the top requested PSP title for the week. Last week's top title, Atari's Dungeons & Dragons Tactics, failed its saving throw as the game fell to the chart's fourth place position, just above the old school RPG Brave Story.
