Game Developer magazines has announced winners for the sixth annual Front Line Awards, honoring excellence and innovation in tools for game development in 2003. Winners in the top categories are: Art Maya 5.0 (Alias) FaceGen Modeller 3.0 (Singular Inversions) Zbrush 1.5 (Pixologic) Game Components Havok 2 (Havok) Hardware Variax (Line 6) Programming OpenGL ES (Khronos Group) IncrediBuild 1.3 (Xoreax Software) Visual Assist .NET 7.1 (Whole Tomato) Audio SFX Kit (Sound Ideas/Tommy Tallorico Studios) SurCode for Dolby Pro Logic II (Minnetonka Audio Software) In addition to the Front Line Award category winners, each year one product is inducted into Game Developer's Front Line Awards Hall of Fame. This year's honor is presented to Adobe Photoshop, selected in recognition of Photoshop's long-term ubiquity and functionality in game development.
