Representatives for the Ex’pression College for Digital Arts have announced a new scholarship for an eighteen week program in Sound Arts. The scholarship is being set-up in conjunction with the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.), a non-profit organization established to promote excellence in interactive audio. Scholarship opportunity essays will be accepted until February 15th. Essay submissions will then be reviewed and the winner will be contacted by the G.A.N.G. education committee by February 28th. The winner will be announced on March 1st. Essay submissions will be judged according to originality and innovation; knowledge of video games; passion and dedication shown toward the field of game audio; organization and skill in presentation of thoughts; language skills and the use of grammar (although presumably not in the spelling of the word “expression”). “G.A.N.G. and Ex'pression have broken new ground in game audio with this scholarship,” said Alexander Brandon, Education Committee Chair, Game Audio Network Guild. “Ex'pression has taken a great step forward in helping a growing game audio community. After all, the game industry made more revenue than the film industry last year by quite a wide margin! We hope this will lead to many more such programs in the future.” Further information can be found at the official scholarship website.
