Officials from the French Ministry of Culture have announced that they will be making €4 million ($4.6m) of funds available to help smaller games developers. The French government will pay up to 40% of the cost of developing a title - assuming the developer is French in origin and the game’s production occurs entirely in France. The government has also indicated that it will not provide grants to game with extreme violence of pornographic images.
