Disney’s multiplatform Toy Story 3 was the top-selling title in the UK for the week ending July 24, tracking firm Chart-Track announced Monday. The game launched July 16, three days ahead of the film’s theatrical release in the UK. After the film’s debut, the game rose from its spot last week at number five to the top of the charts. The game outsold Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption and Ubisoft’s Dance on Broadway, both titles that have spent several weeks in the top three. Before Toy Story 3 topped the charts, Ruffian and Microsoft Game Studios’ Crackdown 2 spent two consecutive weeks at number one, though this week the title dropped all the way to number ten. The only debut title in the top ten this week was Level 5’s Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, which took the number nine spot. In addition, Chart-Track announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 failed to reach the top ten for only the second time in 37 weeks, and the title is closing in on the all-time sales record in the UK, currently held by Brain Training on DS.
