Deadline Approaching for ‘Notes On’ Competition

The 2008 Notes on Game Dev 2D/3D Environment and Character Design Competition is now open for entries, with a submission deadline of June 15, 2008.

Notes on Game Development, a collaborative blog for game artists and designers, is hosting a 2D and 3D art contest to celebrate emerging artistic talent. The deadline to submit work to the contest, called “The 2008 Notes on Game Dev 2D/3D Environment and Character Design Competition,” is June 15. Artists may submit one entry in each of the four categories, which are: 2D and 3D environment art, and 2D and 3D character art. The grand prize winner will receive a grant for the Accredited Game Art Certificate Program at Sessions Online School of Game Art, a one-year membership to the IGDA, a one-year subscription to Game Developer magazine, and rights to use the Notes on Game Development 1st Place Award Winner digital seal in their portfolio and reel. The web site is also hosting a contest for women in games: Aspiring Women Game Artists Competition, which as a deadline of June 20, 2008.
