U.S. division of major Japanese publisher and developer Capcom has announced that Charles Bellfield has joined the executive management team in the role of vice president of marketing for the USA headquarters. In his new role, Bellfield will oversee the company’s strategic and operational marketing efforts including brand and product management, publicity, customer service, e-commerce and the website. “Charles’ expertise and passion is a welcome addition to our strong management team as well as the Capcom global family,” said Hiroshi Tobisawa, president of Capcom Entertainment, Inc. “As we look to expand our North American presence, he will be instrumental in driving our consumer marketing campaigns and outreach in order to meet our worldwide objective of continued growth.” Bellfield joins Capcom with a marketing and communications background which spans more than 13 years, bringing extensive experience within the consumer product and technology markets. Most recently he was the global head of communications at Autodesk, Inc. where he created and managed the company’s corporate and industry communications programs. Preceding that assignment he served as Senior Vice President at Edelman Public Relations, managing a number of high profile consumer projects for clients including Microsoft and Unilever. He also worked for five years at Sega of America, Inc. as Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Affairs where he lead marketing and corporate communications for the launch of the Dreamcast and managed corporate marketing during the company’s transition from console manufacturer to a software publisher.
