Bytegeist Software Pty Ltd, an Australian and UK-based computer game and 3D graphics technology company, released its Vehicle & Physics Middleware SDK. The SDK consists of an API along with a number of 3ds max and Maya plug-ins, and has the following features:

  • Rigid bodies simulation with friction modeling and collision response

    • Collision detection between convex primitives, collections of convex primitives, and between primitives and terrains

    • Object stacking with idle state simulation

    • Vehicle and tracks simulation

    • Adjustable responses based on mass, gravity, friction, elasticity, bounce, and springs

    • Spring and particle simulation

    • Object fracturing with pre-assembled fracture models using max and Maya plug-ins The SDK currently supports PC and Xbox platforms. Pricing was not announced.
