London children's game publisher Blast! Entertainment have announced that the company has signed an exclusive deal to bring Rowan Atkinson's iconic Mr. Bean character to the PlayStation 2. Though few details of the game have yet been revealed, the title will likely be based on the the more recent Mr. Bean animated series, which, according to Film Audience Research, the company notes is watched by 67 percent of UK children under 11, and, together with the original live action series, are currently broadcast in more than 190 territories. Thus far Blast! has only said that the PlayStation 2 game will include 3D levels in which players will have to avoid 'tricky traps' and problem solve to help Mr. Bean find his missing Teddy along with his girlfriend Irma Gobb. Said Blast! Entertainment's Sean Brennan, "It is very gratifying to have secured Mr. Bean in our continuing efforts to sign up high profile movie, TV and cartoon licenses to create games aimed at kids and families, with the overall mission to provide a publishing platform to bridge the gap between mainstream children's film and TV to interactive entertainment."
