Nintendo has reportedly sold 1.08 million units of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, known in Japan as Dairantou Smash Brothers X, in the 11 days since its Japanese release on January 31st. Citing a game magazine publisher, Reuters reported that Brawl reached 1 million units sold faster than any other Wii title. According to Enterbrain, Wii Fit reached this milestone in seven weeks, while Wii Sports took 11 weeks in Japan. Data from Media Create shows that Brawl sold 820,000 units in only its first two days, a pace generally reserved for blockbuster Japanese franchises such as Pokemon, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. The title is also highly anticipated in North America, where it will release on March 9th. It has regularly occupied a spot among the top five Wii titles on the weekly GameFly charts, which show the most desirable game rentals from the service, during every week since January 8th.
