Newsbrief: Gamebase, creator of the popular Gamebryo engine, has designed a new, cross-platform 3D game engine for mobile and web game development called Reach3dx. The Reach3dx engine is built on the architecture of previous Gamebase engine technology, and it works across HTML5, Flash, Android and iOS platforms. “There are two main goals of Reach3dx. The first is to provide cross-platform rendering that is flexible and high quality," stated Reach3dx senior lead engineer Paul Welch in a press release announcing the new engine. "The second is to decrease development times so users can get to the market faster on the ever-changing mobile platforms.” Gamebase plans to demo the Reach3dx engine technology at GDC 2014 later this month. Details about the new engine are scarce at the moment, but Gamasutra has reached out to representatives of Gamebase for further comment. For more information, you can visit the Gamebryo website to set up a meeting at GDC 2014 with Reach3dx representatives.
