Newsbrief: Microsoft has released the latest version of Kinect Runtime for Windows and SDK, featuring record and playback functionality and a face-tracking SDK that provides a real-time 3D mesh of facial features. Version 1.5 also includes a set of Human Interface Guidelines that aid developers in the creation of Natural User Interfaces, and Seated Skeletal Tracking support, allowing Kinect to track a 10-joint skeleton, ignoring the leg and hip joints. As part of the update, the Kinect for Windows hardware has now been made available in more regions, including Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. From next month it will also be available in an additional 15 countries, including Sweden, South Africa and Russia.
