Social games giant Zynga has seen steady user growth for its Zynga.com games platform since it launched in March, with monthly active users now up to 2.8 million. The company launched its web-based Zynga Platform as an open beta in March, with the aim to provide social gamers with easier ways to connect and play together. While the move does not signal Zynga's complete divorce from Facebook, the social network recently admitted that its revenue may take a hit if Zynga chooses to move its operations away from Facebook. According to data from AppData, and as reported by Inside Social Games, Zynga's new platform launched with around 1.7 million MAUs and 130,000 DAUs. Those figures have now increased to 2.8 million MAUs and 420,000 DAUs by the end of April. It's also noted that the retention rate of users has constantly risen since the launch of the platform, due to organic growth rather than growth through advertising or cross-promotion. However, Zynga said that advertising on Zynga.com will be added in the next few months. Zynga's MAU count for its Facebook titles has fallen in the last month, down from 292 million a few weeks ago to 273 million MAUs as of this week.
