To coincide with today's NPD report, Nintendo announced that Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 has surpassed 5 million sales at U.S. retail, making it the first third-party Wii title to reach this milestone in the history of the platform. During July, Just Dance 2 sold 120,000 units and reached the number five spot on the U.S. retail software sales charts. Just Dance 2 is the eighth Wii game to surpass 5 million sales at U.S. retail -- other games to also hit this figure include the following Nintendo releases: 1) Wii Play (13.04 million units sold) 2) Mario Kart Wii (10.64 million units sold) 3) New Super Mario Bros. Wii (8.36 million units sold) 4) Wii Fit (8.17 million units sold) 5) Wii Fit Plus (7.06 million units sold) 6) Wii Sports Resort (6.45 million units sold) 7) Super Smash Bros. Brawl (5.28 million units sold) Last month, Ubisoft first announced that Just Dance 2 had become the top-selling third party title on the Wii. Estimates pointed to Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games as the previous leader for third-party sales.
