Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see Zombie Gunship and Smurfs' Village earning top iPhone sales, while Tap Pet Hotel and Mahjong Towers HD emerge as big sellers on the iPad.

Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Zombie Gunship and Smurfs' Village earning top iPhone sales, while Tap Pet Hotel and Mahjong Towers HD emerge as big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Smurfs' Village (Free) 2. Zombie Gunship ($0.99) 3. Zynga Poker (Free) 4. Texas Poker (Free) 5. Tap Pet Hotel (Free) 6. Angry Birds ($0.99) 7. High Noon (Free) 8. Tap Zoo (Free) 9. Top Girl (Free) 10. Bejeweled 2 + Blitz ($0.99) Capcom's Smurfs' Village takes top honors following a recent content-expanding update, and overtakes former chart champion Zombie Gunship in today's results. Zynga Poker continues to battle rival Texas Poker at third place, meanwhile, as Happylatte's High Noon sees a boost in popularity that lands it at seventh. Here are this weeki¿½s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. Smurfs' Village (Free) 2. Tap Pet Hotel (Free) 3. Tap Zoo (Free) 4. Angry Birds HD ($4.99) 5. Mahjong Towers Touch HD (Free) 6. Angry Birds Rio HD ($2.99) 7. Zynga Poker (Free) 8. Sid Meier's Pirates! for iPad ($3.99) 9. Texas Poker (Free) 10. Tiny Zoo (Free) Smurfs' Village also leads the iPad's revenue chart, as Pocket Gems' Tap Pet Hotel and Tap Zoo trail at second and third place. Big Fish Games enters the top ten this week with newcomer Mahjong Towers Touch HD, while Sid Meier's Pirates! for iPad drops to eighth after claiming third last week.
