Konami vice president and industry veteran Hideo Kojima has revealed the Fox Engine, a development platform which will be used by Kojima Productions to develop the company's future games more quickly. The platform is currently being used to develop Kojima's as-of-yet unannounced title, and has been optimized to allow the developer to release future titles multiplatform, Kojima mentioned in Konami's pre-E3 press video, which can be viewed at GameTrailers. He also said that the engine will allow the studio to "push out great games with shorter development times." The engine has been in development since 2008, when Metal Gear Solid 4 was released. Although Kojima showed off footage of the engine in motion, he noted that the assets on display may not be featured in his upcoming game. Earlier this year, Konami Digital Entertainment revealed that it had promoted Kojima to vice president.
