Oculus Rift available for pre-order this week, but price still under wraps

Oculus has announced that pre-orders for the consumer version of its Rift virtual reality headset will open at 8am pacific time on January 6.

Newsbrief: Oculus has announced that Rift pre-orders will open at 8 a.m. PT on January 6. 

Breaking the news via the official Oculus blog, the company added that it'll be sharing "everything you need to know to order your Rift" when pre-orders go live on oculus.com. The company has yet to announce the commercial price for the device.

Anyone who pre-orders a headset will get their hands on a copy EVE: Valkyrie and VR platformer Lucky's Tale, the latter of which will be available for free whether you pre-order or not. 

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also be answering questions during a Reddit AMA on January 6 at 6 p.m. PT.
