Latest Pokemon pair sells 3 million in opening weekend

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the latest Pokemon remakes, sold more than 3 million copies over their launch weekend.
Newsbrief: Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the latest Pokemon remakes, sold more than 3 million copies over their launch weekend. As confirmed by The Pokemon Company, and reported by Siliconera, the pair of games sold 1.5 million in Japan, and now hold the record for the fourth best Nintendo 3DS game launch in Japan, behind Pokemon X & Y, Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Meanwhile, the games sold roughly 1.5 million across the U.S., South Korea and Australia. The last Pokemon release pair, Pokemon X & Y, managed 4 million in their opening weekend -- although this figure included Europe as well.
