Tropico publisher Kalypso Media Group has opened a new development studio called Nine Worlds Studios.

Nine Worlds is based in Munich, Germany, and has been tasked with developing Tropico 7 for PC and consoles.

The Bavarian outfit will be led by project manager Thomas Schneider, who previously worked in a similar role at multi-platform game studio Aesir Interactive.

Kalypso managing director Simon Hellwig explained Nine Worlds should be operating at full capacity by early 2022, and will work with the company's other Munich studio, Realmforge, to create "workflow synergies."
