Google today announced that it has acquired AI tech studio DeepMind Technologies -- the company co-founded by Theme Park creator Demis Hassibis. Hassibis originally co-designed and programmed Theme Park with Peter Molyneux back when he was just 17 years old. He then left Bullfrog to continue his studies at university. The programmer eventually founded Elixir Studios in 1998 and created Republic: The Revolution and Evil Genius, before leaving the video game industry in 2005. He founded DeepMind in 2012 alongside Shane Legg and Mustafa Suleyman. Although there is no word yet on how much Google paid for DeepMind, reports suggest the figure is around $400 million. The AI company is focused on "simulations, e-commerce and games."
