As the industry gears up for GDC Europe, show organizers are excited to announce that a pair of game industry veterans have joined the event's main advisory board and Indie Games Summit board to help program the lectures and panel sessions taking place at this year's conference in Cologne, Germany, alongside the Gamescom trade fair.

The GDC Europe advisory board, which includes game industry notables like Rovio's Katharina Hautz, CD Projekt Red's Bartlomiej Gawel, DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson, and Rocksteady Studios' David Hego, is very excited to welcome its newest member: Kalypso Media Group global managing director Stefan Marcinek.

Stefan Marcinek has also worked in the game industry as a freelance editor since 1998. From 2000 to 2001 he was the editor in chief of the German headquarters of Gameloft, and after a short adventure as a PR manager he opened the indie-focused publisher Comport Interactive in 2003. In August 2006 he and his business partner founded Kalypso Media.

Since then Kalypso has become one of the worldwide leading independent games publisher and developer, best known for Tropico 3-5, Patrician, Port Royale, Dungeons, Rise of Venice, Grand Ages and many more titles. Kalypso Media also enjoys very strong global digital distribution through its Kalypso Media Digital Ltd. Subsidiary and publishes on mobile devices through Kalypso Media Mobile. Kalypso Media also owns three development studios – Realmforge Studios GmbH, Gaming Minds Studios GmbH and Skilltree Studios GmbH – and works with multiple leading independent developers.

Conference organizers are equally excited to welcome game industry polymath Kitty Calis to the ranks of the GDC Europe Indie Games Summit board, where she will help program the Summit's sessions alongside Frictional Games' Thomas Grip and Lau Korsgaard from the Copenhagen Game Collective.

A jack-of-all-trades, Calis has taken part in and originated many community initiatives such as the Local Multiplayer Picnic, Utrecht Indie Meetups, movie screenings, curation for Unity, as well as events like Control Conference and the Dutch Game Awards.

She's currently in charge of marketing & PR for speedrunning platformer Action Henk, and has co-developed smaller games you've (likely) never heard of like FoldMicrodoctor, and the award-winning Adventure Minute. Calis has also spent 4 years as editor and project manager of the industry publication Control Magazine.

GDC Europe organizers are thrilled to welcome these professionals to the team in advance of the 2015 conference, which will be held August 3-4 at the Cologne Congress-Centrum Ost in Cologne, Germany. Co-located with the European gamescom trade fair, GDC Europe 2015 will continue providing the essential pan-European perspective of game development and highlight business trends throughout the continent.
