Mike Walsh, the former vice president of worldwide sales at Havok, has been named the new CEO of artificial intelligence provider Xaitment, where he will help facilitate the company's expansion into Asia and the Americas. The former CEO, Andreas Gerber, will transition to the company's newly-created COO position. "I am really honored to be joining Xaitment at such an important time in the company’s evolution,” said Walsh. "Xaitment’s products are unique in their modularity and their ability to add incredibly realistic behaviors to non-player characters. We have signed up some really exceptional console developers in Europe, North America and Asia, and we are looking forward to adding to our growing list of satisfied customers." Germany-based Xaitment provides artificial intelligence editors solutions for games and simulations that include pathfinding, NavMesh creation, dynamic unit movement and scripting, as well as tools for game logic and behavior modeling. Its tools currently support the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC, with a version for the upcoming PlayStation Vita in the works. Walsh will be working out of the company's San Francisco office. Xaitment tools were recently licensed for use in Bohemia Interactive's VBS2 military simulation.
