The PlayStation 4 launched in Japan over the weekend, and subsequently sold 322,083 units in the first couple of days, moving total PS4 sales towards 6 million. According to Japanese games magazine Famitsu, the new PlayStation console recorded a better opening weekend than the Nintendo Wii U (which managed 308,570 sold at launch), but sold less than both the Nintendo Wii (371,936 sold) and the PS2 (630,552) at their respective launches. As of two weeks ago, the PS4 had sold 5.3 million units worldwide. This additional surge of sales will no doubt have pushed the console into the regions of 6 million sold, if not more.
