Electronic Arts announced at Gamescom 2011 in Cologne, Germany FIFA Street, a game that EA Sports said aims to capture an "authentic" street soccer feel. Due in early 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, this new FIFA Street is a reimagining of the FIFA Street series that saw its last entry -- FIFA Street 3 -- back in 2008, published previously under the now-abandoned EA Sports Big label. The next FIFA Street is in development at EA Canada, the same studio behind the annual, massively popular FIFA franchise. The game runs on EA's FIFA Soccer gameplay engine, but focuses on realistic street-style play. "This is the first time our award-winning FIFA development team is creating a street soccer game, and we are going to deliver a level of authenticity never before seen in this genre, along with amazing gameplay," claimed Matt Bilbey, VP and GM of Soccer at EA SPORTS. FIFA Street will support gamers who pay extra for the EA Sports Season Ticket, which allows ticket holders to get the game as a digital download three days prior to official launch.
